Nereus aims to attract core members who can help to enrich the services which we can collaboratively offer to our economics researchers.
There are five key principles used in the selection of core members, two of which (see below) are mandatory. Any library or information service wishing to become a core member of Nereus is most welcome to approach us on this basis.
The key principles for selection of core members are:
- Coverage of as many European countries as possible
- Libraries with major economics collections which can include good online services, and libraries with unique collections in economics whatever the size
- Institutions with high-ranking economics research departments
- Staff with appropriate expertise and with the necessary commitment and enthusiasm to devote time and resources to Nereus
- Willingness to pay the annual Nereus core membership subscription

Principles 4 and 5 must be fulfilled in all cases by prospective core members. There may be some cases where not all of principles 1 to 3 need be fulfilled by applicants.
